We are expanding our Aquatics staff and looking to add an additional Head Lifeguard to our team!
Under the direction of the Recreation Manager, this position supervises and trains new lifeguards, maintains a safe and consistently run pool, leads by example while demonstrating professional lifeguard standards and skills.
The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:

The Client Service Specialist is responsible for addressing the varied needs of our patrons and provides essential support to staff members. In the role of Client Service Specialist, you will be expected to develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all District programs, rules, policies, etc.
Duties include: greeting and checking in patrons, processing payments, enrolling patrons in various programs, providing accurate up-to-date information regarding programs - including schedule and fees, report preparation including bank deposits, maintaining numerous activity logs, answering and directing calls on the multi-line phone system, taking detailed messages, selling concession items, light cleaning tasks, other duties as assigned.

Recreation Aides assists the Recreation Manager or other District staff in providing supervised recreation activities such as sports, games, arts and crafts, educational sessions, special events, and field trip experiences for various age groups.
Uses creativity to suggest activities, sports, crafts, and special activities in collaboration with the Recreation Manager.
Operates programs according to District and other appropriate guidelines.
Assists in maintaining related records and reports.
Assist in the distribution of marketing materials to the public.

Reports safety hazards and/or injuries immediately according to procedures.

The Senior Lifeguard supervises lifeguards on regular recreational swims and events. This position is responsible for overseeing lifeguard staff and patron safety when the Head Lifeguard or Recreation Manager is absent; they can close the facility and assume facility management responsibilities when no management is present. This position will work varied hours, including nights and weekends, as required.

The Recreation Coordinator works directly with the Recreation Manager to coordinate recreation programs for North Whidbey Pool, Park, and Recreation District. This position requires a proven background in sports and recreation programming. This position will be responsible for recreation program planning and recreation staff training under the supervision of the Recreation Manager. This will position will have a strong sports and recreation background and understand best practices for implementing and managing inclusive programs, staff, and facilities. This position will serve as a recreation aide or sports official, as needed.

This is a regular part-time, non-exempt position. 35 hours per week, with some nights and weekends, as required for programming.
Salary range as of January 1, 2024 is $20.00-25.00 per hour, depending on years of experience and qualifications.
Under the direction of the Business Manager, this position coordinates front desk operations of North Whidbey Pool, Park, and Recreation District (District.) This position will have a strong customer service background and understand best practices in creating/maintaining an inclusive environment for patrons and staff. Develops, monitors, and implements training and scheduling for Client Service Specialists. Works regularly scheduled shifts at the front desk; addresses the varied needs of patrons and provides essential support to staff members.
The ideal candidate will:

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Creates monthly Client Service Specialist schedule; monitors/adjusts schedule as needed for employee illness and/or emergencies.

Assists in training new Client Service Specialists. Works with the Business Manager to develop and implement ongoing Client Service Specialist training.
•
Monitor facility calendar to assist patrons with scheduling as needed.
•
Coordinate with the Business Manager for event promotion via social media.
•
Keep accurate inventory of office supplies, retail, and concession items. Prepare office supply, retail, and concession orders and submit them to the Business Manager.
•
Work with the Business Manager to develop and implement cash handling procedures in accordance with the Budgeting, Accounting, and Reporting System (BARS)
•
Makes cash deposits to Heritage Bank.
•
Develops and thoroughly understands all District programs, rules, and policies.
•
Courteously greets and assists patrons by answering questions, checking in/enrolling patrons in District programs, processing cash/check/credit sales payments, providing accurate, up-to-date information on all District programs, and communicating patron needs/concerns to department heads.

Prepares reports, including bank deposits, and maintains various activity logs.
•
Assists with special events and activities to promote the District.
•
Sells and restocks concessions as needed.
•
Answers and directs phone calls, answers inquiries, and takes detailed messages as needed.
•
Tours and cleans tour lobby, lobby restrooms, viewing room, and front desk area.
•
Raises and lowers the flag at appropriate times and folds the flag in the evening.
•
Controls lobby entrance and deck access.
•
Performs other duties, does departmental work, and assists other departments as assigned.
•
Primary work schedule is Thursday- Monday; other days may be necessary to provide front desk coverage.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
One year of customer service experience. Must be people oriented and dedicated to maintaining an inclusive environment for patrons and staff.

Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, and Facebook/Social Media platforms.
•
Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
•
Strong basic math skills.
•
Previous cash handling experience preferred.
•
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and problem-solve independently.
•
Ability to learn quickly and readily adapt to change.
•
Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, District programs.
•
CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
•
Access to reliable transportation.
•
Ability to pass a background check.
This is a regular part-time, non-exempt position. 30-35 hours per week, with weekends and some nights required.
Salary range as of January 1, 2024 is $18.00-20.00 per hour, depending on years of experience and qualifications.
